You have that wonderful Harley for riding down the wide open road with the wind in your face, and probably a couple of bugs in your teeth.

You have that wonderful Harley for riding down the wide open road with the wind in your face, and probably a couple of bugs in your teeth. And so you need one of those Harley leather jackets to make you differentiate yourself from the rest of the riders close to you.

There are many places that have pre-made Harley leather jackets that you can add your name to and maybe a club logo too, but these can wind up looking like other motorcycle clubs, and who wants that?

What to Look For

When buying a pre-made jacket that you can add a few things to you need to look at is the quality of the leather. Is it heavy enough to protect you from not just the wind and the rain, but against lay-downs too? You want something that will let you walk away from that.

The quality of the stitching is important too. No matter how good the leather, if the stitching is bad, or the thread weak, you are still going to have problems.

How to Find

Seek advice from others you know or have come upon and see where they bought their jackets, and if they really like them. In this area, a recommendation is the best way to acquire precisely what you are looking for.

There are many online sources for jackets, but as you cannot see, feel, or seriously check them out, you cannot be sure of how good they are unless they are carrying a well-known brand that you can see in a local store.

As for having them personalized, you should check and see just how much extra they demand for that and shipping. Then evaluate the prices and see the one that you want.

Put together Your Own

One can additionally make their own custom made Harley leather jacket at home provided that they possess the machine to control the leather. If one has got the machine, then picking the leather, patches or perhaps logos and a zipper are your subsequent responsibilities.

The right way to Purchase

Almost all jackets follow a fundamental pattern, which is not really difficult to come across. If you possess, or can get access to, a machine that additionally does embroidery, you can custom stitch your logos directly into the jacket, just check up on copyright policies initially.

Want to learn more about how to find Harley leather jacket at a bargain price. Stop by http://harley-davidson-wheels.com/ to find out how to get the best deals on the equipment you need to outfit your ride.

Energy consumption is a challenge that car users face, because whether you like or not, the more energy you use when driving your car, the more money you will have to spend for the fuel. Aside from that, failure to practice good driving habits can shorten the life of your car, and that too can cost you some cash for repair and maintenance. By getting rid of your bad driving habits and practicing essential car tips, there’s no doubt you’ll lessen your expenses and save more.

An important rule you must put in mind when buying a car for the first time is to only choose a car that fits your lifestyle. There is absolutely no point in buying an expensive sports car if you have no need for it. In case you don’t know, the larger the car, the more difficult and expensive it is to maintain. Therefore, remain practical and buy only what you exactly need.

In case you already have your car for years now, get the most out of it by practicing good driving habits. Most drivers ignore this very important factor and end up with their pockets empty due to inefficient fuel use. One example of a good driving habit is using your car only if there is a really important need for it. If you’re destination is only a few blocks away and you can probably reach it by foot without hassle, you might as well walk and save your car’s fuel.

If you’re driving at a fast rate most of the time, it would be best if you keep your use of air condition to a minimum. If possible, turn the air condition on in the first few minutes of your driving and when it starts to get cool, you can turn it off to save energy. Avoid pulling your windows down too while driving really fast since the drag can cause the car to exert extra effort and use up extra energy.

Have your car checked on a regular basis and when doing so, make sure you focus on your car’s oil. Air intake vents should also be checked for blockages as clogged air filter can only increase your fuel consumption. Check the tires’ alignment as well. Misalignment can cause engine drag and can result to waste of fuel.

If you’ve had your car for a long time, making these changes will let you appreciate how much you can save compared to when you were still stuck to your old driving habits. Aside from helping you save both fuel and money, these tips can also help maintain your car’s top performance and ensure your safety while on the road.

This author also often gives advice about subjects including the furry slippers and womens Shearling slippers.

In uncertain economic times, the last thing consumers want is to spend a small fortune on premium fuel when filling up their cars. Another benefit of driving a greener car is conserving the environment for future generations; the ozone layer is getting thinner by all the gasses our vehicles put out into the air. Contrary to popular belief, many of these cars are actually within financial reach for most buyers.

One hybrid that almost everyone is familiar with is the Toyota Prius. This vehicle is also popular with many celebrities; Cameron Diaz and Leonardo Dicaprio have been photographed driving one. It runs on an electric engine with 134 hp and a four cylinder 1.8 traditional engine. There are three different driving modes the driver can select from; Eco, Power and EV. MSRP is around twenty thousand dollars.

Honda is a brand that is associated with reliability and dependability and the same applies to their hybrid Civic. It is powered by both a four cylinder engine that works together with an electric motor. The traditional engine shuts off by itself when not in use; a smart use that helps to conserve fuel. The Civic Hybrid qualifies as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emission vehicle due to its low emissions and comes with a fifteen year or 150k mile warranty on emission parts. This compact vehicle is priced to sell around $24k.

If you thought the Fiesta was a hit, the Super Fuel Economy package increases mileage. Mileage is excellent since it can hit up to 40 mpg when cruising down the highway! These are some swell numbers that are sure to save you lots of dollars. Ford Motor’s intuitive Sync system can be installed which allows you to dial out calls and change the music by just using your voice. That way you don’t have to fiddle with buttons or use your smart phone when driving (which is illegal in many states). Ford San Bernardino has a large selection of vehicles for sale in Palm Springs and Riverside.

The government is planning to seriously limit car emissions and giving individual states more power to limit gas emissions. This is a step which will greatly impact the automotive industry. By the year 2020, new vehicles will need to meet the 35 mpg mark. Choosing to drive an efficient vehicle is not only a positive step on a personal level but also on the national and global level.

Written by Sasha Dior – For great prices check out Riverside Honda for a large selection of vehicles for sale in Riverside.

For the Chevelle, the year of 1966 was big since it brought in a whole new curved look to the model. The 66 Chevelle front fender had a more aggressive design in which the top thrust forward to give it a more powerful look. The back of the 1966 was also a departure from the 1965. It had a higher shaping that many said gave it a distinctive coke-bottle look. Many people are simply enamored by the simple beauty of this classic muscle car’s design. In many muscle car collector circles, the 1966 Chevelle is considered one of the most loved classic muscle car designs in history.

With a new broad grille, this car had what that many people have come to revere in this automobile’s legacy. Furthermore, this car had the curved side windows as well as the “flying buttress” roof line in the hardtop models. This was also the year that the hardtop Sport Sedan became a part of the Malibu series. It continued to have the 300, 300 Deluxe, and Malibu trim.

The new innovation in car technology was very popular in 1966. In fact, 412,155 Chevelles were produced and of all the autos built, 72,272 were Super Sports. The demand was way higher than the 65 model year.

Of the types of body styles, there was the 2 door sports coupe, 4 door sports coupe, 2 door convertible, and the 4 door station wagon. No longer in the lineup was the two-door station wagon from the previous year. Sales was low for this car as it was discontinued for the 1966 model year.

A much higher performance SS 396 rolled off the assembly line with a standard 325 horsepower turbo-jet V-8 having an incredible engine displacement of 396 cubic inches. It came with a fantastic Super Sport option that had special fender moldings, twin simulated hood air-intakes, as well as a blackened out grill that had SS 396 badges. You could also see the Super Sport script on the rear fenders. Very nice looking. The SS package option in the 66 automobile also had the great looking mag-type wheel covers and nylon red striped tires. This was pretty much it for the SS options. Bucket seats were optionally available in this automobile. Most came with vinyl bench seats.

For those wanting the ultimate Chevelle in 1966, the L78 engine option was available. It was rated at 375 horse power and was basically the same 396 cubic inch engine as the L34 but it came with a hotter cam and a higher compression ratio. The extra horsepower allowed this Chevelle to do 0 to 60 in about 6.5 seconds.

Looking at the overall picture, the 1966 Chevelle was made much faster and more compact than the previous year’s model. The style still looks good today and is instantly recognized by enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike as a classic muscle car.

Often referred to as a wheel cover, a hubcap is a flat disk that can be fit into the center space of wheels. It is available in three different types of materials: steel, aluminum, and high-grade plastics. If you’re looking for a more durable wheel cover, either the steel or aluminum will do. But if you’re after flexibility, there’s the plastic wheel cover, which can be used in different make and models of vehicles.

Wheel covers have massively developed through the years. They started out during 1930s as a simple covering for wheels of buggy and wagons and measured no more than 4″ in diameter. Today, wheel covers are large enough to snugly fit the entire wheel, including the tire’s edges. They are also more decorative and stylish, with more colors and eye-catching designs and styles.

Because of the many different styles and colors of hubcaps currently available, most vehicle owners use these accessories to aesthetically enhance their vehicles. There are, however, some who still see hubcaps as crucial parts of vehicles mainly because of their ability to protect the wheels and maintain their excellent performance and condition. Hubcaps, since the early days, have always been known to keep dirt and other elements from harming the spindle nuts and wheel bearing. They were primarily used to seal the wheel hub of early-day modes of transportation such as buggy and wagon.

Modern day hubcaps may still be used to seal wheel hubs and protect the wheels from dust and harmful particles, but they are now more functional and in-demand than early-day wheel covers.

Nowadays, there are many different styles and colors of hubcaps. Many resemble Frisbees with their flat chrome round shapes. Modern day wheel covers still have the basic function of protecting the wheels from dirt and harmful particles, but they are now primarily utilized to provide a more polished and elegant look to vehicles.

As a buyer of hubcaps, you are given endless possibilities and many different ways to design your vehicle with different styles and colors of wheel covers available. They can also be found everywhere, from your local stores to online stores. There are wheel covers that feature unique spoke patterns, classy and elegant designs, as well as chrome-plated and non-coated plastic wheel covers. With such a huge selection, there’s certainly a hubcap that will perfectly complement the color, make, and model of your vehicle.

Aside from classy and elegant designs, modern day hubcaps are now available in different styles. Two of the most popular ones are the clip-on hubcaps and the bolt-on hubcaps. Clip-on hubcaps are built with a spring steel clip that can be grooved into the wheels; plastic clip if it’s a plastic hubcap. The bolt-on hubcaps, on the other hand, are built with threaded fastener which keeps the hubcaps in place.

Today, there are a lot of online stores that offer a long line of hubcaps for different make and model of vehicles, as well as various styles and colors. Many of them also offer new and used hubcaps, even customized ones for those who want to provide their vehicles a more personalized look. When shopping for a hubcap, it is crucial that buyers choose the one that is styled and designed for their cars. The color should match and the spokes should have unique and intriguing patterns.

Among today’s top rated on-line retailers of wheel covers is Hubcapzone.com. It’s been trading for much more than 20 years and has built an exceptional standing when it comes to supplying top-quality used and brand spanking new wheel covers at affordable price tags. You’ll be able to also choose to personalize the look of your vehicles by ordering your customized hubcap at the web page.

There are plenty of motorbike tires in the marketplace. But if you are riding your trusty Harley-Davidson, then you will really want to ride official Harley tires-and certainly not some after market knock off.

A lot of companies develop and design tires specifically to fit Harley motorcycles. The majority of the tires are made for cruising, touring, and sporting. Here are several tips for locating a pair of Harley tires perfect for your bike.

Get the Right Model

The first thing that you’ll want to consider is to find out exactly what sort of motorbike you have. For instance, if you are riding a cruiser, you might want to consider buying the Michelin, Commando or Macadam 50. Harley Davidson has authorized this product.

This particular brand may be used on the Soft tail, Sportster, and also the Dyna bikes. You can get your local HD dealer order the tires suitable for you. All of these tires are easy to steer, evacuate water, and tend to be a supremely comfortable ride.

Contemplate the Dunlop

One very popular pair of Harley Tires is the Dunlop HD K591 MT. Both company’s logos are printed on the side of the tire. This brand has a very distinctive tread pattern.

Be prepared to find that particular product as a tubeless tire; there is sizes for the back and also the front. Dunlop produced this particular model with regards to sports and racing. In the event you make contact with a merchant you can find that it has a V speed rating.

Drive the Distance

Get the D402 for those who travel long distances on your bike; the D402 was basically made for touring. Today, engineers are making this tire in accordance with a computer generated designed model that should enable the tire to function properly with regard to water and also dry surfaces.

Another excellent option would be the MU85B-16 rear tire which can carry over 900 lbs and also endure speeds up to 130 mph. Identify whether you want the tubeless or tube prior to making the purchase.

It is not difficult to get the right Harley Davidson tires. Ensure you know exactly what kind of motorbike you are driving-and it makes the next move of buying an appropriate tire easy and painless.

Have you ever wondered where we would be if it wasn’t for the humble car tyre?Whatever speed or conditions you drive in, you wouldn’t be going anywhere – or stopping whenever you want either – without the four “postcard sized” patches of rubber in contact with the road. So in homage to our favorite component of your motor vehicle… we’d like to take you back over a brief history of the tyre. We’re going to have a look at some of the key developments in the car tyre – and see how it’s gone from a “wild west-style bone shaker” to something that lets thrill seeking speed junkies break the land speed record.

Have you seen the old cowboy movies – where the wagon train pulls out of New York and heads off to the promised land of California? Well, most of the early ‘cars’ were little more than wagons with motors – or ‘horseless carriages’ – and they were still using wooden wheels. The first evolution was to replace the wood with steel. Carriages progressed to having steel on the outside of the wooden wheels to hold the segments together, and it’s believed that this steel ‘tie’ is where the name ‘tire’ has its origins.

With the ever increasing pace of technology, better wheels and tyres were required to keep the cars on the move. The first really big advance was to come with Charles Marie de La Condamine’s invention of rubber, in 1736, but it really needed Charles Goodyear’s vulcanization technique of 1839 to get the ball, or at least the tyre, rolling.

In 1887 John Boyd Dunlop had the same idea as Robert William Thomson – unfortunately the former patenting his idea 41 years after the latter – when it came to the development of the pneumatic tyre. Two years later Dunlop changed it to a patent for the pneumatic tyre in the UK. Interestingly, this is when the spelling t-y-r-e became popular again, having died out in the seventeen hundreds in favour of the t-i-r-e, which is still used in many countries around the world.

Karl Benz’s first car had already been patented a whole year before Dunlop took out his patent for the pneumatic tyre. Benz’s car had been on the road a full year before being patented. However, the first truly recognizable car was patented even further back, in 1882. Now tyres had to move on, because the method of gluing them to the rim wasn’t good enough, so the first shaped rims started to be developed.

In 1891 douard and Andr Michelin had a revelation. A cyclist showed up at their rubber factory to get a pneumatic tyre repaired; because it was glued it took three hours to remove and the whole night for the new glue to dry. The Michelins’ soon realized removable pneumatic tyres were the answer. In 1895 they would pioneer the pneumatic car tyre, but it wasn’t until 1929 that the solid car tyre went out of use. In 1903 the Goodyear Tire Company took out a patent on the tubeless car tyre, and in 1904 they and Firestone began the production of cord-reinforced tyres. 1904 was a monumental year for drivers as they were given the chance to fix their own flat tyres. This was made possible due to the introduction of mountable rims.

One curious note, however, considering how vital to our road safety it is, Frank Seiberling didn’t invent the first grooved tyres until 1908. Next, the tyres needed to be made more durable, and some odd combination’s of materials were tried in order to develop longer lasting tyres. If things had gone slightly better we may be driving around, at this very moment, in tyres made with carbon black, steel, or even leather.

That concludes our brief excursion down the sometimes bumpy road of the wheel. In terms of going from a steel strapped wooden wheel, to the high performance tyres used on an F1 car, or even just the regular family car, the tyre has rolled on a fair distance. So, the next time you’re in your car and go over a bump, just give a moment’s thought to your tyres, and how different that bump would have felt if the tyres had been made of leather and steel.

Perhaps the best maintenance method for your car is preventive maintenance. Aside from prolonging the life of your car, it can also ensure that your car is in top condition especially during times when you need it the most. You’ll only need to check the basic components of your car on a regular basis in order to achieve this, and set a general checkup schedule that would best work for you and your car.

While all parts of a vehicle are important, the tires are perhaps the one that should always be checked first. Read the user’s manual that came with your car when you first bought it and find out what exact amount of pressure your car’s tires need. Doing this will prevent the tires from wearing and tearing quickly. Apply the tire rotation rule as well after each time your car reaches 7000 miles.

You’ll know whether the belts and the hoses located under the hood need some fixing simply by checking them out for damages, tears, and leaks. When checking the engine oil and the transmission oil, simply use the dipstick to check the level and the condition of the oil. If the color has turned darker than usual, it means you need to change it already.

Checking the brakes is quite complicated since you need to take note of three possible problems when doing so. First, check for a grinding noise each time you step on the brakes. Second, observe whether the pedal is sinking or not when you’re stepping on it, and third, whether the car is pulling to one side every time it stops.

A possible diagnosis for the first problem is a thin brake pad. If you confirm this to be the case, immediately replace it with a new one. For the second one, insufficient brake fluid may be the cause. Simply refill it to solve the problem. The third case is probably a result of insufficient hydraulic pressure, so adding some more will probably solve it.

When it comes to the car’s battery, it is actually difficult to figure out whether it needs some repair or replacement or not. You can only check for visible signs of leaks or damages in order to tell that. In addition, although a car battery’s lifespan is four to five years only, you can prolong its years by regularly cleaning the cables and tightening it in place.

For the most important part of all, never take for granted your car’s maintenance and repair schedule. As much as possible, adhere to it faithfully so that you can ensure not only your car’s health but your safety when driving as well.
