Cars such as the Beetle date back to Nazi Germany where Hitler played an influence. The round shape of the cars was created by Erwin Komenda. During the second world war only a handful of these cars had actually been manufactured. The main idea behind the car was that Hilter wanted to create a car that was affordable to all German citizens who would purchase the car through a funding scheme.
Cars like the Beetle had a slowed down production rate during the Second World War. The wonderful name of the “Beetle” was not given to the cars until’68 up until this point it was known as “Type 1″. The first time it was called the Beetle was in German brochures where it was called “DER KFER”. When the new Beetle was brought on to the market in’98 the Beetle name was reintroduced.
The Second World War was tough on Germany, but that didn’t stop the production of the Beetle although it did slow its production. Eventually the new Beetle was introduced to the world and it was an instant hit.
The new look design Beetle set off a craze in’99 when everyone wanted to purchase the Beetle. There will always be the old look Beetle fans, but there was also a new type of fan emerging. Nowadays the old design Beetle is very rare, but many people have the new design Beetle. The new look Beetle has a round shaped design, but it is much more feminine.
The Beetle is a family orientated car that is recognised all over the world and is still popular today. It was the latest Beetle that began the retro craze in’99. The look was very similar to the old Beetle, but with a new kind of twist. Again it has the round front profile although it appeals more to women this time round. It is growing in popularity more for its looks than anything else it has to offer. The inside of the new Beetle is not roomy and the boot has hardly any room to fit anything in.
Many families wanted to purchase the Volkswagen Beetle when it was first introduced and it has gone on to be a world known car. It was Germany that brought the Beetle into production during’38 to 2003.
The Beetle’s trade mark shape that is round and funky is recognised the world over. Production has always been fast, apart from during the Second World War that had a bad effect on Germany. However through perseverance the Beetle did eventually get re-released. The Beetle was named in’68 because until this time it was known only as “Type 1″. It was when Germany released brochures displaying the name “Der KFER” that the Beetle was named. It is hard to believe how far and fast the Beetle has grown and it still has its presence in the world today.
